{"id":10800,"date":"2009-12-10T21:38:00","date_gmt":"2009-12-10T19:38:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2009-12-10T21:38:00","modified_gmt":"2009-12-10T19:38:00","slug":"teraco-johannesburg-launch-date-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/telecoms\/10800-teraco-johannesburg-launch-date-announced.html","title":{"rendered":"Teraco Johannesburg launch date announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In March this year Teraco announced that it had opened its first vendor neutral data centre in Cape Town.&nbsp; Based in the Great Westerford building in Newlands the 500 square meter data centre focuses on providing hosting space to service providers and high-end clients such as carriers, ISPs, managed service providers and corporate businesses.<\/p>\n<p>In July Teraco further announced that it would top up its operating capital with a further R50-million in a successful Series-B round of financing, consisting of equity and loans. This follows the conclusion of a Series-A financing round of R45-million in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Teraco seems to be putting the money to good use, and has revealed that its 3800 square meter Johannesburg data centre should open its doors in early January.&nbsp; &ldquo;The team is busy and with over 70 people on site working shifts 7 days a week, the project is ahead of schedule.
