{"id":10824,"date":"2009-12-14T08:58:00","date_gmt":"2009-12-14T06:58:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2009-12-14T08:58:00","modified_gmt":"2009-12-14T06:58:00","slug":"telkom-dsl-key-performance-indicators","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/adsl\/10824-telkom-dsl-key-performance-indicators.html","title":{"rendered":"Telkom DSL Key Performance Indicators"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ICASA published its ADSL Regulations in August 2006, but to this day the regulations are largely ignored by most Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in South Africa.&nbsp; Telkom is however the exception, and has for the most part implemented the regulations &ndash; albeit its own interpretation of how it should be done.<\/p>\n<p>Telkom has previously published that the contention ratio for ADSL is 20:1, and has recently released its key ADSL performance indicators (KPI) comprising of Packet Losses, Average Latency and Jitter.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to Telkom&rsquo;s KPI Report for July to September 2009 the Average International Packet Loss percentage was 0.017, down from 0.028 over the preceding three months.&nbsp; The &lsquo;Average International Round-trip latency&rsquo; was 283 ms for July to September, slightly better than the 292 ms for April to June 2009.<\/p>\n<p>When it came to local KPIs the Average National Packet Loss percentage over the last three months was 0.25%, significantly lower than the April to June figure of 2.9%.&nbsp; The Average National Round-trip latency of 14.79 ms was also better than the 16.1 ms for the preceding three months.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php?t=207579\"><strong>Telkom DSL KPIs<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; comments and views<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Telkom released its ADSL performance indicators for July to September 2009<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-10824","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-adsl"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/10824"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=10824"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/10824\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=10824"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=10824"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=10824"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
