A cellphone store at the Glen shopping centre in Ormonde, Johannesburg, was robbed on Monday evening, Gauteng police said.<\/p>\n
“The suspects stole cellphones and fled the scene,” said Captain Doniah Mothutsane.<\/p>\n
No shots were fired and no injuries reported.<\/p>\n
“No arrests have been made yet, but we are investigating.”<\/p>\n
She was unable to confirm the value of the cellphones stolen or the number of people involved in the robbery.<\/p>\n
This was the fourth robbery to have taken place at the mall in the past year.<\/p>\n
Stock and money from the Samsung store at the mall were stolen on July 30. Staff were tied up and locked in the back of the shop.<\/p>\n
Last month seven people robbed the mall’s iStore of electronic equipment. A security guard was shot and wounded as the thieves fled.<\/p>\n
On November 18 last year cellphones were stolen from the Vodacom store in the mall. Shots were fired in the parking lot outside.<\/p>\n
