{"id":10978,"date":"2010-01-04T14:23:00","date_gmt":"2010-01-04T12:23:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-01-04T14:23:00","modified_gmt":"2010-01-04T12:23:00","slug":"eskom-price-hike-public-hearings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/business\/10978-eskom-price-hike-public-hearings.html","title":{"rendered":"Eskom price hike public hearings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The hearings for Eskom&#8217;s required revenue application for the period April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2013 would be held in all provinces from January 11 to 21, it said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>They would start in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga and end in Midrand, Gauteng.<\/p>\n<p>On September 30, 2009 Nersa received an application from Eskom for an adjustment to the required revenue for the period April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Considering the projected volumes\/sales the revenue applied for translated into an application for an electricity price increase of&nbsp; 45 percent per annum for the three year period,&#8221; Nersa said.<\/p>\n<p>On November 30 however Eskom submitted a revised application for a 35 percent increase.<\/p>\n<p>Nersa said would make its ruling on the application in February.<\/p>\n<p>Eskom was trying to raise funds for a R385 billion power expansion programme.
