{"id":11005,"date":"2010-01-05T21:22:00","date_gmt":"2010-01-05T19:22:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-01-05T21:22:00","modified_gmt":"2010-01-05T19:22:00","slug":"google-nexus-one-officially-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/11005-google-nexus-one-officially-launched.html","title":{"rendered":"Google Nexus One officially launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Google today unveiled its Nexus One &lsquo;superphone&rsquo;.&nbsp; Manufactured by HTC, the Nexus One features dynamic noise suppression from Audience, a 3.7&#8243; OLED display and a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset:&nbsp; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/phone\/static\/en_US-nexusone_tech_specs.html\" target=\"_blank\">Google Nexus One specifications<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Running on Android 2.1, the newest version of Eclair, the software includes a voice-enabled keyboard, live wallpapers and a 3D photo gallery. It also comes with a host of popular Google applications, including Gmail, Google Voice and Google Maps Navigation.<\/p>\n<p>Google further announced &ldquo;a new way for consumers to purchase a mobile phone through a Google hosted web store.&rdquo;&nbsp; The company said that the goal of this new consumer channel is to provide an efficient way to connect Google&#8217;s online users with selected Android devices. &ldquo;We also want to make the overall user experience simple: a simple purchasing process, simple service plans from operators, simple and worry-free delivery and start-up,&rdquo; Google said.<\/p>\n<p>The first phone Google will be selling through their new web store is the Nexus One.&nbsp; &ldquo;The Nexus One belongs in the emerging class of devices which we call &lsquo;superphones&rsquo;.
