{"id":11042,"date":"2010-01-08T10:33:00","date_gmt":"2010-01-08T08:33:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-01-08T10:33:00","modified_gmt":"2010-01-08T08:33:00","slug":"google-nexus-one-availability-in-sa-uncertain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/11042-google-nexus-one-availability-in-sa-uncertain.html","title":{"rendered":"Google Nexus One availability in SA uncertain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday Google officially unveiled its Nexus One &lsquo;superphone&rsquo;.&nbsp; The phone is manufactured by HTC and features dynamic noise suppression from Audience, a 3.7&#8243; OLED display and a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.<\/p>\n<p>The Nexus One runs on Android 2.1, the newest version of Eclair, and includes a voice-enabled keyboard, live wallpapers and a 3D photo gallery. It also comes with a host of popular Google applications, including Gmail, Google Voice and Google Maps Navigation.<\/p>\n<p>South Africans trying to purchase the phone on the Google website are greeted with the message: &ldquo;Sorry, the Nexus One phone is not available in your country&rdquo;.&nbsp; Google did however announce that it has an agreement with Vodafone to distribute the Nexus One.<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom today confirmed that Vodafone&#8217;s agreement with Google covers all of Vodafone geographies, including South Africa.&nbsp; The offer will initially be introduced in Europe, starting with the UK in the next few weeks.
