{"id":110680,"date":"2014-09-26T17:08:52","date_gmt":"2014-09-26T15:08:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=110680"},"modified":"2014-09-26T17:14:26","modified_gmt":"2014-09-26T15:14:26","slug":"mac-users-safe-from-shellshock-bug","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/security\/110680-mac-users-safe-from-shellshock-bug.html","title":{"rendered":"Mac users safe from Shellshock bug"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apple Inc said the vast majority of Mac computer users are not at risk from the recently identified &#8220;Shellshock&#8221; computer bug, which security experts have warned affect operating systems, including Mac&#8217;s OS X.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The vast majority of OS X users are not at risk,&#8221; Apple spokesman Bill Evans said late Thursday evening.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Shellshock&#8221; is a vulnerability in Bash, a piece of software packaged with Mac OS X, which is based on the Unix operating system.
