Apple has unveiled its latest desktop computer \u2013 the iMac with Retina Display. The standout feature is its 27-inch Oxide TFT display with a resolution of 5120×2880.<\/p>\n

The new iMac display features new LED backlight technology, which consumes 30% less energy while offering the same brightness as previous iMacs.<\/p>\n

The iMac with Retina Display sports a 3.5GHz Intel i5 quad-core CPU (upgradeable to an Intel quad-core i7 4.0GHz CPU), with the option of a Radeon R9 M290X or a M295X GPU.<\/p>\n

The latest iMac also comes with Thunderbolt 2, a 1TB Fusion drive, and 8GB of RAM. The hard drive and RAM can be confifured\u00a0to 3TB (or 1TB of PCIe-based flash storage) and 32GB respectively.<\/p>\n

The new iMac with 27-inch Retina Display is priced at $2,499 and was already on sale at the time of publication.<\/p>\n

New Mac mini<\/h3>\n

Apple also revealed its new Mac mini at the press event.<\/p>\n

The Mac mini, which was available for purchase at the time of publication, comes in three models at varying prices.<\/p>\n

First up is the 1.4GHz dual-core Intel i5 version which comes with 4GB of RAM, Intel HD graphics, and a 500GB hard drive. This base version will sell for $499.<\/p>\n

Next is the 2.6GHz dual-core Intel i5 model, fitted with 8GB of RAM, Intel Iris graphics, and a 1TB hard drive. The mid-range model is priced at $699.<\/p>\n

Lastly we have the 2.8GHz dual-core Intel i5 version, which sports 8GB of RAM, Intel Iris graphics, and a 1TB fusion drive. This model will sell for $999.<\/p>\n

Customers can choose to fit the Mac mini with a 3.0GHz dual-core Intel i7 and 16GB of RAM, with these models configured to order.<\/p>\n
