Telkom is currently promoting its \u201cCompletely Unlimited\u201d SIM-only mobile plan, offering unlimited calls, unlimited Telkom data and unlimited SMSes for R999 per month on a 24 month contract.<\/p>\n
Consumers also have the option of adding a high-end smartphone to the package \u2013 including a Samsung Galaxy S5 or Samsung Galaxy Note 3 \u2013 and pay R1,399 per month.<\/p>\n
Telkom\u2019s previous SIM-only price for its \u201cCompletely Unlimited\u201d mobile plan was R1,199 per month, which means that users can save R200 per month when signing up during the promotional period.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo matter how much you use on your phone, you will never pay a cent over R999 per month. That\u2019s the true definition of unlimited,\u201d said Telkom.<\/p>\n
Telkom highlighted that the unlimited data is only available on Telkom\u2019s mobile network \u2013 hence where it has coverage and not when roaming on the MTN network.<\/p>\n
The terms and conditions for the Completely Unlimited plan also state that the “unlimited data” is subject to a 10 Gigabyte (GB)\u00a0fair use policy.<\/p>\n
“The speed shall be throttled to 128kbps if a subscriber reaches a data usage soft cap of 10GB before the end of the month,” according to the T&Cs. “The speed shall be reset to normal speed at the beginning of each calendar month alternatively subscribers can purchase once off or recurring data bundles.”<\/p>\n
The company also said that the unlimited calls exclude international calls and premium-rated numbers.<\/p>\n
The promotional price is valid until 20 November 2014.<\/p>\n
