{"id":11250,"date":"2010-01-26T09:58:00","date_gmt":"2010-01-26T07:58:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-01-26T09:58:00","modified_gmt":"2010-01-26T07:58:00","slug":"siemens-profits-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/business\/11250-siemens-profits-up.html","title":{"rendered":"Siemens profits up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Net profit increased to 1.53 billion euros (2.15 billion dollars) between October and December, the first quarter of the company&#8217;s 2009-2010 fiscal year compared to 1.23 billion euros a year earlier, Siemens said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Analysts polled by Dow Jones Newswires had forecast a net profit of 864 million euros.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Earnings for the first quarter provide a gratifying snap-shot of the current situation,&#8221; Siemens chief executive Peter Loescher said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The actions we took at a very early stage are now cushioning us from the ongoing repercussions of the global recession,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We will continue to tackle all challenges decisively and in a responsible manner.
