Google recently announced the addition of a large-screen smartphone to its Nexus line of devices which is set to go up against Samsung\u2019s existing Note range and Apple\u2019s new iPhone 6 Plus.<\/p>\n

Manufactured by Motorola, the Nexus 6 sports a 5.96″ QHD (1440×2560) display, 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805-based processor, and comes with the latest version of Android \u2014\u00a0Lollipop (version 5.0).<\/p>\n

Apple announced the iPhone 6 Plus along with the iPhone 6 at an event on Tuesday, 9 September 2014, and recently confirmed that the smartphone would launch in South Africa on Friday, 24 October.<\/p>\n

The Galaxy Note 4 was announced on Wednesday, 3 September 2014 and launched in South Africa last Friday, 17 October.<\/p>\n

LG, who built Google\u2019s Nexus 5 smartphone, also launched a device this year with a screen similar in size to the iPhone 6 Plus – the G3.<\/p>\n

While the internal hardware of the devices do not necessarily indicate what the user experience will be like, it does give some indication of what to expect, and what you\u2019re paying for.<\/p>\n
