{"id":113189,"date":"2014-10-31T07:30:27","date_gmt":"2014-10-31T05:30:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=113189"},"modified":"2014-10-31T07:31:59","modified_gmt":"2014-10-31T05:31:59","slug":"enca-cut-in-the-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/broadcasting\/113189-enca-cut-in-the-uk.html","title":{"rendered":"eNCA cut in the UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>eNCA is being removed from the Sky pay-TV platform in the United Kingdom just two years after it branched out, Channel24 reported on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>TV viewers in the United Kingdom will lose eNCA from Friday at 6am when the South African 24-hour TV news channel goes dark &#8212; the end of its inter-continental expansion on satellite television.<\/p>\n<p>Asked why eNCA was suddenly being cut from Sky, eNCA said: &#8220;The reasons behind the move are part of the company&#8217;s efforts to respond to changes in the way news media is consumed in a digital world.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We know we have a loyal audience on Sky who will be upset by the decision,&#8221; said eNCA managing director Patrick Conroy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We regret that very much.
