{"id":113801,"date":"2014-11-09T07:55:31","date_gmt":"2014-11-09T05:55:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=113801"},"modified":"2014-11-09T07:56:56","modified_gmt":"2014-11-09T05:56:56","slug":"cell-c-might-not-survive-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/113801-cell-c-might-not-survive-report.html","title":{"rendered":"Cell C might not survive: report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cell C CEO Jose dos Santos says that there&#8217;s a &#8220;strong possibility&#8221; that Cell C won&#8217;t survive, if certain takeovers and deals in the industry get regulatory approval.<\/p>\n<p>Dos Santos was speaking in a presentation to MPs on Friday, according to Bloomberg, where the CEO noted that the merger between Vodacom and Neotel, and a network sharing deal between Telkom and MTN, was putting its survival at risk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou are going to go back to where we started 20 years ago if those deals pass regulatory muster,\u201d Dos Santos was quoted saying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a very strong possibility that Cell C won\u2019t survive.
