{"id":11433,"date":"2010-02-09T23:57:00","date_gmt":"2010-02-09T21:57:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-02-09T23:57:00","modified_gmt":"2010-02-09T21:57:00","slug":"amd-releases-budget-gpu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/hardware\/11433-amd-releases-budget-gpu.html","title":{"rendered":"AMD releases budget GPU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AMD today announced the release of its ATI Radeon HD 5570 graphics card, a unit which the company refers to as &ldquo;perfect for end-users seeking an energy efficient, low-profile DirectX 11 card for small form factor PCs&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>The HD5770 offers DirectX 11 support, as well as HDMI 1.3a with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. In addition it also features support for ATI&rsquo;s Eyefinity technology &ndash; which allows up to three displays sequentially from a single unit.<\/p>\n<p>The HD5570 also incorporates a 40 nanometer manufacturing process, 400 stream processors, 8 ROPs, 20 texture units, 650 MHz core and employs DDR3 memory clocked at 900MHz. In addition the HD5570&rsquo;s maximum TDP (thermal design power) is 42.7W which is suitable for most power supplies.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;AMD recognizes that small form factor PCs are becoming more popular and low profile graphics upgrade options have been limited to date,&rdquo; said Matt Skynner, Vice President and General Manager, AMD Graphics Division.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Customers purchasing small form factor PCs are looking for improved performance while gaming, watching HD video or working with the latest productivity applications.&nbsp; The ATI Radeon HD 5570 graphics card delivers all of this at a price that won&rsquo;t break the bank,&rdquo; said Skynner.<\/p>\n<p>Local pricing details for the HD5570 have not yet been announced.
