{"id":114423,"date":"2014-11-18T14:16:54","date_gmt":"2014-11-18T12:16:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=114423"},"modified":"2014-11-20T00:07:07","modified_gmt":"2014-11-19T22:07:07","slug":"afrihost-plus-membership-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/114423-afrihost-plus-membership-announced.html","title":{"rendered":"Afrihost Plus+ membership announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Afrihost CEO Gian Visser said in an e-mail to subscribers on Tuesday, 18 November 2014 that they plan to launch a suite of value-added services called Afrihost Plus+ to their subscribers within the next two days.<\/p>\n<p>No price has been set yet, as Visser said he is not completely sure what a fair monthly price would be for the service \u201cgiven the massive value Afrihost Plus+ adds\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Subscribers were <a title=\"Afrihost Plus+ survey\" href=\"https:\/\/www.afrihost.com\/surveys\/2014_afrihost_plus\/\" target=\"_blank\">linked<\/a> to a short online survey in which they could indicate which Afrihost Plus+ features they would enjoy, and what they would be willing to pay for it.<\/p>\n<p>The benefits of Afrihost Plus+ listed on the survey page were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Simfy Africa music streaming<\/strong>: full access to stream on desktop or mobile, which usually costs R60 per month, or R49 if you\u2019re an MTN customer. MTN\u2019s bid to buy Afrihost recently got <a title=\"MTN-Afrihost deal approved\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/business\/113581-mtn-afrihost-deal-approved.html\">competition approval<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Free 500MB mobile data<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Double data all the time<\/strong>: continue receiving double data on Afrihost mobile or DSL packages, even after the promotion ends on 31 December 2014.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Permanent 2-for-1 topups<\/strong>: Usually a promotion which Afrihost said runs a few days a month, Plus+ subscribers will always have access to double value data top-ups.<\/li>\n<li><strong>No capping on capped DSL<\/strong>: When your data cap runs out, your connection is instead throttled to 128 kilobits per second.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Double turbo charges<\/strong>: Turbocharge lets you maximise your speed and avoid all shaping on an uncapped DSL account for a set amount of time.
