{"id":11474,"date":"2010-02-14T14:41:00","date_gmt":"2010-02-14T12:41:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-02-14T14:41:00","modified_gmt":"2010-02-14T12:41:00","slug":"free-adsl-uplink-bandwidth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/adsl\/11474-free-adsl-uplink-bandwidth.html","title":{"rendered":"Free ADSL uplink bandwidth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Durban based ISP Openweb has announced the launch of their &lsquo;Free Upload ADSL accounts&rsquo; last week, offering subscribers free upload bandwidth.&nbsp; &ldquo;On these accounts no upload bandwidth used, locally or internationally, to any destination, will count towards your cap,&rdquo; explains Openweb founder Keoma Wright.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Basically, what this means is free uploads, to any destination. For as long as you have download cap left, all uploads will remain free.&nbsp; After you have reached your download cap, the account will be hard capped, and you may purchase another,&rdquo; explains Wright.<\/p>\n<p>Openweb offers two &lsquo;Free Upload ADSL&rsquo; accounts:&nbsp; 5 GB priced at R249 per month and 10 GB priced at R489 per month.&nbsp; Wright adds that P2P and torrent services are allowed on these accounts, but warns that an acceptable user policy applied where &lsquo;heavy upload users&rsquo; will have P2P and torrent access shaped.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This is a Beta Service. We are testing the viability of such an account in a commercial beta environment.
