{"id":114799,"date":"2014-11-26T16:13:19","date_gmt":"2014-11-26T14:13:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=114799"},"modified":"2014-11-26T16:41:06","modified_gmt":"2014-11-26T14:41:06","slug":"hellopeters-new-head-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/business\/114799-hellopeters-new-head-announced.html","title":{"rendered":"HelloPeter&#8217;s new head announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Alon Rom, former shareholder and director of Mr Delivery, will be appointed as\u00a0the new HelloPeter CEO on 1 December 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Rom is replacing HelloPeter founder Peter Cheales, who recently announced his exit from the business after it was\u00a0acquired by a consortium of South African and global entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n<p>Supporting Rom will be the current HelloPeter team, which remains in place.<\/p>\n<p>New shareholders include Founder Collective, a venture capital firm based in Massachusetts and co-founded by David Frankel.<\/p>\n<p>As a firm, Founder Collective has made early investments in over 150 startups, including consumer marketplaces like Coupang &#8211; South Korea\u2019s largest e-commerce company &#8211; and Uber.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to be backing Alon who brings a proven track record of building businesses that put the customer ahead of everything else,\u201d says Frankel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis felt like a very good fit for Hellopeter.com.
