Alon Rom, former shareholder and director of Mr Delivery, will be appointed as\u00a0the new HelloPeter CEO on 1 December 2014.<\/p>\n
Rom is replacing HelloPeter founder Peter Cheales, who recently announced his exit from the business after it was\u00a0acquired by a consortium of South African and global entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
Supporting Rom will be the current HelloPeter team, which remains in place.<\/p>\n
New shareholders include Founder Collective, a venture capital firm based in Massachusetts and co-founded by David Frankel.<\/p>\n
As a firm, Founder Collective has made early investments in over 150 startups, including consumer marketplaces like Coupang – South Korea\u2019s largest e-commerce company – and Uber.<\/p>\n

According to Rom, the presence of Founder Collective in the new shareholder base will provide immense benefits to the HelloPeter ecosystem.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot only do they have a proven track record in technology investments worldwide, but they offer the ability for HelloPeter to leverage off the Founder Collective community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rom says that the HelloPeter platform and brand will live on under the new ownership structure and encourages South Africans to continue using the service as per usual.<\/p>\n
He explains, however, that the platform will evolve, by combining its core offerings and values with the launch of new products and services.<\/p>\n
Rom says HelloPeter will also launch a more user-friendly web and mobi site under a refreshed corporate identity, which\u00a0will integrate all social media content.<\/p>\n
It will also, in time, launch an application which\u00a0will allow live interaction between consumers and corporates.<\/p>\n
