{"id":115571,"date":"2014-12-23T13:55:22","date_gmt":"2014-12-23T11:55:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=115571"},"modified":"2014-12-23T13:56:38","modified_gmt":"2014-12-23T11:56:38","slug":"adsl-rules-but-dial-up-just-wont-die","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/115571-adsl-rules-but-dial-up-just-wont-die.html","title":{"rendered":"ADSL rules, but dial-up just won&#8217;t die"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Effective Measure has released its demographic statistics for November 2014, which show that 43% of South African website visitors use ADSL to access the Internet.<\/p>\n<p>Effective Measure is the official traffic measurement partner of the IAB South Africa, and provides accurate website statistics and demographics data for South Africa\u2019s top websites.<\/p>\n<p>Effective Measure gathers demographics data about local Internet users through online surveys, and in November 2014 the company conducted 171,769 surveys on South African Internet users.<\/p>\n<p>According to the results 43% of South African Internet users access local websites through ADSL, while\u00a034% use wireless networks, and 32% mobile networks.<\/p>\n<p>An interesting revelation is that 5% of South Africans still use dial-up to serve their Internet needs.<\/p>\n<p>The following table provides an overview of how and where people in South Africa access the Internet.
