Mobile device manufacturers HTC have announced that its HTC Hero handset has been awarded the Best Mobile Handset prize at the 15th annual Global Mobile Awards.<\/p>\n
The GSMA announced the winners of the Global Mobile Awards at the 2010 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last week.<\/p>\n
“A remarkable 500 entries from across the global mobile ecosystem were submitted this year, all of an extremely high caliber, and the winners should be incredibly proud of their achievements,” said Rob Conway, CEO and Member of the Board, GSMA.<\/p>\n
Quinton Leigh, MD of Leaf International Communications, the sole distributors of HTC in South Africa said, “It is magnificent to receive global mobile industry acknowledgement in the mobile handset category. It reinforces the positive feedback from our growing South African user base, who love the customisation and design of the handset.” <\/p>\n
Since its release in late 2009 the HTC Hero has received favourable feedback from consumers and industry analysts alike. It features a 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen, a Qualcomm MSM 7200A processor operating at 528 MHz as well as Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, HSPA, EDGE, and GSM. The Hero also runs on Google’s Android mobile operating system.<\/p>\n
