{"id":116251,"date":"2015-01-05T19:22:03","date_gmt":"2015-01-05T17:22:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=116251"},"modified":"2015-01-12T13:30:54","modified_gmt":"2015-01-12T11:30:54","slug":"lg-g-flex2-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/smartphones\/116251-lg-g-flex2-announced.html","title":{"rendered":"LG G Flex2 announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LG announced the G Flex2 smartphone at its CES press conference in Las Vegas on Monday, 5 January 2015, promising greater durability and user-friendliness than its predecessor.<\/p>\n<p>Much had been known about the device ahead of its launch, and <a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/smartphones\/116187-lg-g-flex-2-confirmed.html\" target=\"_blank\">LG did not even try<\/a> to keep its upcoming announcement at CES secret.<\/p>\n<p>The Korean electronics manufacturer has now confirmed that the LG G Flex2 will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 system-on-chip and revealed that it will be clocked at 2GHz.<\/p>\n<p>Its self-healing skin works in just 10 seconds, LG said, adding that the durability of the G Flex2 had been enhanced by up to 30%.<\/p>\n<p>Among the features of the device LG highlighted was Glance View, which lets you swipe down from the lock screen to turn on only a part of the organic light emitting diode (OLED) display to show notifications, and the time and date.<\/p>\n<p>The LG G Flex2 will be powered by a 3,000mAh battery and run the latest version of Google\u2019s mobile operating system, Android 5.0 \u201cLollipop\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In a press release accompanying its announcement, LG said that G Flex2 will be available from the end of January 2015 in Korea, with launches in additional global markets to follow.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the key specifications are:<\/p>\n<div class=\"table-responsive\"><table class=\"table\" style=\"width: 100%;\" border=\"1\" cellpadding=\"5\">\n<thead>\n<tr style=\"background-color: #002440;
