Google has launched a new beta version of its Chrome internet browser today which, according to the company, includes a number of new innovations including additional privacy controls for users and seamless integration of translation functionality. <\/p>\n
The focus in this beta release, says Google, is primarily on privacy when browsing. In addition to Chrome’s existing Incognito mode users will now be able to access a new “Content Settings” section of Chrome’s Privacy Options dialog. <\/p>\n
In this beta, a user can also control how browser cookies, images, JavaScript, plug-ins, and pop-ups are handled on a site-by-site basis.<\/p>\n
Other options which have been implemented include:<\/p>\n
• <\/span>Adding cookie rules for specific websites (such as ‘allow’, ‘ask’, or ‘block’)<\/p>\n • <\/span>Blocking all third-party cookies<\/p>\n • <\/span>Automatically clearing all cookies when the browser is closed<\/p>\n • <\/span>Blocking loading of all images<\/p>\n • <\/span>Adding image rules for specific websites<\/p>\n • <\/span>Blocking loading of all JavaScript<\/p>\n • <\/span>Adding JavaScript rules for specific websites<\/p>\n • <\/span>Blocking loading of all plug-ins<\/p>\n • <\/span>Adding plug-in rules for specific websites<\/p>\n Google Chrome’s option dialogs also provide a link to the Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager, where users can view and control the local objects that Adobe Flash stores on their computer.<\/p>\n The new Chrome beta will also provide more comprehensive navigation for multilingual pages without the need for browser extensions or plug-ins. <\/p>\n “Browsers are perhaps the most important piece of software for computer users today.
