{"id":11636,"date":"2010-03-02T22:47:00","date_gmt":"2010-03-02T20:47:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-03-02T22:47:00","modified_gmt":"2010-03-02T20:47:00","slug":"10-mbps-fttx-here-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/broadband\/11636-10-mbps-fttx-here-soon.html","title":{"rendered":"10 Mbps+ FTTX here soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the last two years Neotel has become well known for its wireless Internet offerings.&nbsp; It is currently serving residential and small businesses with its NeoConnect and NeoFlex services, and recently launched its <a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/Broadband\/9721.html\" target=\"_blank\">uncapped 2 Mbps WiMAX service<\/a> aimed at the small and medium sized business market.<\/p>\n<p>Neotel has now revealed that it is getting ready to offer businesses an affordable Fibre-to-the-Premise (<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fiber_to_the_x\" target=\"_blank\">FTTX<\/a>) service with speeds of at least 10 Mbps. <\/p>\n<p>The Neotel FTTX offering will be deployed in areas where Neotel already have a fibre presence like the Sandton central business district.&nbsp; Neotel will start to pull fibre into the buildings and offices over the next few months.<\/p>\n<p>While Neotel is reluctant to discuss pricing at this stage, it is speculated that the service may be priced from around R3000 per month.&nbsp; This will be well below competing high speed services like bonded ADSL solutions and iBurst Business&rsquo;s Wireless DSL offering.<\/p>\n<p>Telkom is however starting to roll out its <a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/ADSL\/10470.html\">8 Mbps ADSL2+<\/a> service soon, and the fixed line provider indicated that they are also trialing 10 Mbps and 12 Mbps services.&nbsp; This means that Telkom may also be able to offer businesses 10 Mbps fixed line connections in the near future.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php?219215-10-Mbps-Neotel-FTTX-here-soon\">Neotel 10 Mbps fibre service<\/a><\/strong> &lt;&lt; discussion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Neotel is set to start rolling out its next generation broadband offering:  a 10 Mbps fibre to the premise service<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_sma_x_autopost_status":"idle","_sma_x_autopost_error":"","_sma_x_post_id":"","_sma_facebook_post_id":"","_sma_instagram_post_id":"","_sma_threads_post_id":"","_sma_x_attempts":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-11636","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-broadband"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/11636"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=11636"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/11636\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=11636"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=11636"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=11636"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
