Text chat and video conferencing will follow soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Promising to be more secure than services such as Skype, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MEGAprivacy\/status\/558087217730834432\" target=\"_blank\">Mega announced<\/a> that the MegaChat beta offers end-to-end encrypted audio and video chat.<\/p>\n<p>Mega launched with cloud storage and file sharing features in January 2013 \u2014\u00a0a year after the United States Department of Justice shut down Megaupload.<\/p>\n<p>Gigaom <a href=\"https:\/\/gigaom.com\/2015\/01\/22\/kim-dotcom-puts-megachat-secure-skype-rival-into-beta\/\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a> that Mega previously received poor ratings from security experts, even though it offers a security bounty to anyone who finds flaws with its services.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">A glut of WebRTC-based voice and video apps coming?<\/h3>\n<div id=\"attachment_117450\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Firefox-Hello.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-117450\" class=\"size-full wp-image-117450\" src=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Firefox-Hello.jpg\" alt=\"Firefox Hello\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Firefox-Hello.jpg 600w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Firefox-Hello-250x166.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-117450\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Firefox Hello<\/p><\/div>\n<p>According to Gigaom, in-browser video calls are set to become ubiquitous as support for WebRTC becomes more widely available to\u00a0web users.<\/p>\n<p>Mozilla, for example, recently announced that the latest version of its Firefox web browser now includes Firefox Hello &#8211;
