{"id":117920,"date":"2015-01-31T08:55:22","date_gmt":"2015-01-31T06:55:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=117920"},"modified":"2015-01-31T08:56:54","modified_gmt":"2015-01-31T06:56:54","slug":"bmw-fixes-connecteddrive-security-flaw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/security\/117920-bmw-fixes-connecteddrive-security-flaw.html","title":{"rendered":"BMW fixes ConnectedDrive security flaw"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>German automaker BMW says it has fixed a security flaw that made 2.2 million of its vehicles vulnerable to break-ins.<\/p>\n<p>The company says the problem affected BMW, Mini and Rolls Royce models equipped with its ConnectedDrive technology, which allows drivers to access certain car functions with a smartphone.<\/p>\n<p>German automobile club ADAC, which discovered the flaw last summer, says hackers could have used a fake cellphone base station to intercept network traffic from the car and lower the windows or open the doors.
