Raspberry Pi released a new version of its credit card-sized computer on 2 February 2015, dubbed the Raspberry Pi 2 Model B.<\/p>\n

The new model has many of the same features as the Raspberry Pi 1 Model B+, but is powered by an upgraded system-on-chip, The Register reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to Raspberry Pi, this new processor has four 32-bit ARMv7 Cortex-A7 cores with 1GB of RAM, offering up to six times greater performance than its predecessor.<\/p>\n

The Register reported that the foundation\u2019s boss, Eben Upton, said that the \u201c6x\u201d claim was based on SysBench test results.<\/p>\n

RS Components in South Africa already lists the new Raspberry Pi 2 Model B on its website<\/a> for R446.86.<\/p>\n
