{"id":11906,"date":"2010-03-25T13:54:00","date_gmt":"2010-03-25T11:54:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-03-25T13:54:00","modified_gmt":"2010-03-25T11:54:00","slug":"ibm-develops-chinese-anti-spam-software-for-mobile-users","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/11906-ibm-develops-chinese-anti-spam-software-for-mobile-users.html","title":{"rendered":"IBM develops Chinese anti spam software for mobile users"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The US software giant said the system had been developed for a subsidiary of China Mobile, the world&#8217;s biggest telecom operator.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The anti-spam texting system IBM developed for Fujian Mobile is solely designed to improve the performance of telecommunications networks by blocking high network traffic associated with spam SMS activity,&#8221; IBM spokeswoman Harriet Ip told AFP.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is not designed to filter content or censor data and it is not technically capable of doing so.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Its sole purpose is to improve mobile phone customer service by eliminating meddlesome spam text messages.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>No other companies had plans to install the system, she added.
