Samsung and Korean mobile network operator SK Telecom are set to test a\u00a07.5Gbps “5G” data system at the upcoming\u00a0Mobile World Congress, taking place in Spain from 2 – 5 March 2015.<\/p>\n
The planned exhibition\u00a0follows Samsung’s successful testing<\/a><\/strong> of the 5G network in October 2014.<\/p>\n At the time, the company achieved the\u00a07.5Gbps using a\u00a028GHz network, which was also able to transfer data at\u00a01.2Gbps while travelling at 100km\/h.<\/p>\n According to reports, the technology comes with a few catches, though.<\/p>\n The new “5G” technology – which has not been officially defined as yet – uses millimeter wave signals to send\u00a0information between the network and user.
