Neotel recently announced that it is planning to migrate its high end NeoConnect and NeoFlex customers – who currently make use of the company’s CDMA based 3G access network – to a new WiMax offering.<\/p>\n
According to Neotel it is currently developing new broadband WiMax products aimed at high-end consumers. The company said that the new WiMax product is intended to be attractive to those who need higher performance than is available on 3G networks (including CDMA).<\/p>\n
“We believe that this will help to relieve the pressure on our CDMA network. These new product offerings are under development and therefore no product information is available yet,” said Neotel.<\/p>\n
Numerous NeoFlex and NeoConnect subscribers have complained about poor speeds over the last few months, and some Neotel subscribers have even suggested that the company started throttling its uncapped NeoConnect subscribers.<\/p>\n
Neotel would not confirm or deny reports that it is throttling subscribers, but it is not entirely unlikely given the complaints about its CDMA network being congested.<\/p>\n
