{"id":121862,"date":"2015-03-13T12:03:20","date_gmt":"2015-03-13T10:03:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=121862"},"modified":"2015-03-13T12:07:54","modified_gmt":"2015-03-13T10:07:54","slug":"dstv-premium-users-to-lose-some-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/broadcasting\/121862-dstv-premium-users-to-lose-some-services.html","title":{"rendered":"DStv Premium users to lose some services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DStv Premium subscribers will not be able to access streaming video services without an active personal video recorder (PVR) \u201cin the near future\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, DStv Premium subscribers are able to watch\u00a0SuperSport live streaming and some DStv Catch Up services without an active PVR subscription.<\/p>\n<p>The subscription fees of both DStv Premium and the additional PVR Access service are set to increase from 1 April 2015. A DStv Premium subscription will cost you R699 (up from R665), while PVR Access will cost R80 (up from R75).<\/p>\n<p>Asked about the\u00a0Premium online video streaming services restructuring, a Multichoice spokesperson said it was done as the service\u00a0is\u00a0an extension of the PVR experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese services are now part of our exclusive value added services available only to our DStv Premium customers with an active PVR,\u201d MultiChoice said.<\/p>\n<p>MultiChoice added it is not just SuperSport live streaming services that are affected, but its DStv Catch Up offering as well.
