Mr van DeMerva submitted that the advertisement contravenes the law by not including VAT in its prices.

Beginning 2 End Technologies responded by saying that it has made appropriate changes on its website.

The ASA said that it has a long standing principle that where an advertiser provides an unequivocal undertaking to withdraw or amend its advertising in a manner that addresses the concerns raised, that undertaking is accepted without considering the merits of the matter.

The advertisement must however be withdrawn with immediate effect and not used again in future.

Comments

An ASA consumer complaint took an ISP to task for not including VAT on its ADSL prices on its website.

[5

post-1221","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-adsl
