{"id":122544,"date":"2015-03-24T18:25:43","date_gmt":"2015-03-24T16:25:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=122544"},"modified":"2015-03-25T11:27:06","modified_gmt":"2015-03-25T09:27:06","slug":"mweb-shuts-down-wi-fi-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wireless\/122544-mweb-shuts-down-wi-fi-service.html","title":{"rendered":"MWEB shuts down Wi-Fi service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MWEB\u00a0Wi-Fi has shut down and is directing users to connect to AlwaysOn instead.<\/p>\n<p>(<strong>Also see:\u00a0<a title=\"Future of MWEB Wi-Fi\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wireless\/122564-future-of-mweb-wi-fi.html\">Future of MWEB Wi-Fi<\/a>.<\/strong> MWEB&#8217;s\u00a0Fon\u00a0service is not being shut down.)<\/p>\n<p>AlwaysOn is owned by Internet Solutions, a Dimension Data company, which said in 2014 it was <a title=\"Dimension Data to buy MWEB Business\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/business\/110346-dimension-data-to-buy-mweb.html\"><strong>planning to acquire a number of MWEB\u00a0assets<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition was <a title=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/business\/116003-internet-solutions-and-mweb-transaction-approved.html\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/business\/116003-internet-solutions-and-mweb-transaction-approved.html\"><strong>conditionally approved<\/strong><\/a> on 18 December, paving the way for Internet Solutions to buy MWEB\u00a0Business, and the Optinet Service and Network Divisions from MWEB.
