On the anniversary of the 1931 \u201cSurgeon\u2019s Photograph<\/a><\/strong>\u201d of the Loch Ness Monster (aka\u00a0Nessie), Google has unveiled an \u201cunderwater street view<\/a><\/strong>\u201d of Loch Ness.<\/p>\n

Collected with the assistance of Catlin Seaview Survey, Google said its partners dove deep under the surface of the lake to collect the imagery.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can imagine Nessie nestling within these dark, peat-filled waters, waiting for the right moment to breach the surface into the Scottish sunlight above,\u201d said<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>Google’s Sven Tresp.<\/p>\n

A look at some of the images collected shows that a dive in Loch Ness quickly gets terrifyingly dark<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

While this may not make for an entertaining search for Nessie, it does offer a\u00a0brief look underwater along with shots of the beautiful landscape surrounding the famous loch.<\/p>\n
