FNB Mobile is planning to launch its own virtual network operator (MVNO) soon, which will offer products that\u00a0are tightly integrated with its banking services.<\/p>\n
Industry speculation suggests\u00a0FNB has been planning to launch a mobile operator<\/a><\/strong> for some time, but it was kept back by technical issues.<\/p>\n FNB already has its own Internet service provider which offer products that\u00a0are integrated with its eBucks programme, and its MVNO products are also expected to offer this integration.<\/p>\n While recently launched MVNOs like me&you mobile and Mr Price Mobile use MVN-X to offer services, FNB is said to have its own MVNO platform.<\/p>\n FNB did not answer directly when asked about the MVNO, saying it \u201cwill continue to enhance its services where it benefits customers, such as providing free calls and messaging via the FNB App\u201d.<\/p>\n Virginia Magapatona, FNB\u2019s head of corporate communications, said they already have a telco license and are able to provide voice and data services.<\/p>\n \u201cAs one of the largest bulk SMS users and airtime distributors, we have relationships with all mobile network operators and will continue to work closely with all parties,\u201d said Magapatona.<\/p>\n \u201cWe continue to hold confidential discussions with various operators, and we will only be in a position to formally announce any new features or customer benefits once launched.\u201d<\/p>\n Me&you mobile pricing \u2013 all the details<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n FNB mobile operator launch expected soon: sourcesMore on mobile services<\/h3>\n
