Rift final consumer model revealed, SA launch questions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oculus and Facebook recently unveiled the final consumer version of their virtual reality headset, along with the new Oculus Touch controllers.<\/p>\n<p>No hardware specifications, retail pricing, or final release date information has\u00a0been announced.<\/p>\n<p>However, it was confirmed that the Rift would be sold with an Xbox One controller.<\/p>\n<p>With regards to a South African launch, Oculus and Facebook said: \u201cWe do not have more details to share on Rift sales at this time&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The reveal of the consumer model Oculus Rift comes after announcements in May that the VR headset <a title=\"Oculus Rift VR headset launch window\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/hardware\/125724-oculus-rift-vr-headset-launch-window.html\"><strong>will ship in Q1 2016<\/strong><\/a> and will require a high-end PC to run optimally.<\/p>\n<p>The recommended system specifications are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nvidia GTX 970\/AMD 290 equivalent or greater<\/li>\n<li>Intel i5\u20134590 equivalent or greater<\/li>\n<li>8GB+ RAM<\/li>\n<li>Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output<\/li>\n<li>2x USB 3.0 ports<\/li>\n<li>Windows 7 SP1 or newer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_129436\" style=\"width:
