CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays look like under a microscope"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ben Krasnow has published\u00a0an image comparing various optical media when examined under an electron microscope.<\/p>\n<p>The image followed a video by Krasnow\u00a0on\u00a0the topic in which he also showed how he created a slow-motion video of a vinyl LP being played.<\/p>\n<p>Krasnow explained that he could not place the optical media directly under the microscope, as the protective plastic would results in a smooth image.<\/p>\n<p>He demonstrated how the CD\u2019s label had to be removed, while the DVD had to be pried open to get at the metallic film inside.<\/p>\n<p>Krasnow said\u00a0his current setup has a field of vision of about 10\u00b5m<sup>2<\/sup>.\u00a0Imaging a square millimetre
