Microsoft has launched\u00a0Send, a mobile instant messaging application which links to Office 365 business and school e-mail accounts.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile tools like text messaging and IM are great for short messages, you often don\u2019t have your co-worker\u2019s cell phone number or an IM app on your work phone,\u201d said Microsoft.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd we\u2019ve heard loud and clear from people at work, they want all their communications available in Outlook – even if they send them from other apps.\u201d<\/p>\n
With Send, there are no signatures, subject lines, or salutations required. It also features Quick Reply messages such as \u201cOn my way\u201d or \u201cI\u2019ll get back to you.\u201d<\/p>\n
You can also see when someone is typing their response.<\/p>\n
Microsoft has launched an iPhone version of Send in the U.S. and Canada, and has promised that it is coming soon to Windows Phone and Android smartphones.<\/p>\n
It expects to make Send broadly available \u201cin the coming months”.<\/p>\n
