{"id":13313,"date":"2010-06-25T10:54:00","date_gmt":"2010-06-25T08:54:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-06-25T10:54:00","modified_gmt":"2010-06-25T08:54:00","slug":"iphone-4-reception-issues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/13313-iphone-4-reception-issues.html","title":{"rendered":"iPhone 4 Reception issues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apple <a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/13295-iPhone-makes-world-debut.html\">launched its new iPhone in five countries yesterday<\/a> and reports are already streaming in of problems with the device.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2010\/06\/24\/apple-responds-over-iphone-4-reception-issues-youre-holding-th\/\" target=\"_blank\">Engadget<\/a> when a user queried the issue with Apple CEO Steve Jobs his simple reply was, &#8220;Just avoid holding it in that way.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The official statement from Apple according to multiple sources is: &#8220;Gripping any phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas. This is a fact of life for every wireless phone. If you ever experience this on your iPhone 4, avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>User response has been varied. Some users have pointed out that there have been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2010\/06\/24\/other-mobile-phones-with-similar-signal-loss-issues\/\" target=\"_blank\">similar issues reported on other mobile phones<\/a>.
