{"id":133524,"date":"2015-07-29T11:58:58","date_gmt":"2015-07-29T09:58:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=133524"},"modified":"2015-07-29T12:01:00","modified_gmt":"2015-07-29T10:01:00","slug":"how-to-install-windows-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/133524-how-to-install-windows-10.html","title":{"rendered":"How to install Windows 10"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Windows 10 <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/133506-windows-10-launched-in-south-africa.html\">launched on 29 July<\/a><\/strong>, with a\u00a0free upgrade to the new operating system available to Windows 7 and 8.1 users.<\/p>\n<p>The free update\u00a0for qualifying Windows users is available until 29 July 2016, and those who take up Microsoft\u2019s offer will receive the upgrade\u00a0through Windows Update.<\/p>\n<p>In South Africa, prices for the OS have emerged\u00a0online, with the retail version Windows 10 Home costing around R1,700, while Windows 10 Pro is set to cost R3,200.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Downloading Windows 10<\/h3>\n<p>If you are planing on taking advantage of the free upgrade, you will first need to download the installer for it.<\/p>\n<p>Those who reserved a free upgrade should automatically download the installer through Windows Update, and will be notified when they can begin the\u00a0installation.<\/p>\n<p>Users on Reddit have tried <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Windows10\/comments\/3exx29\/preload_windows_10_if_you_dont_have_the_folder\/?\" target=\"_blank\">various<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Windows10\/comments\/3ezohh\/this_is_how_to_force_it_windows_10_has_manual\/\" target=\"_blank\">tricks<\/a><\/strong> to jump the queue, with varying degrees of success reported.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft has also released ISO images of Windows 10 on its website.
