{"id":134140,"date":"2015-08-05T07:39:06","date_gmt":"2015-08-05T05:39:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=134140"},"modified":"2015-08-05T07:41:07","modified_gmt":"2015-08-05T05:41:07","slug":"apple-denies-mvno-plans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/134140-apple-denies-mvno-plans.html","title":{"rendered":"Apple denies MVNO plans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apple has denied reports that it plans to launch its own mobile network or MVNO, a spokesperson <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/2015\/08\/04\/us-apple-mobile-idUSKCN0Q91Q020150804\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>told<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Reuters<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>An MVNO is a mobile operator that offers services on top of another cellular carrier\u2019s infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The denial comes after Business Insider reported that <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/apple-in-talks-to-launch-an-mvno-in-the-us-and-europe-2015-8\">Apple was testing<\/a> <\/strong>an\u00a0MVNO\u00a0in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>It reported that Apple was also in talks with European companies to offer its services there.<\/p>\n<p>Business Insider said Apple\u2019s MVNO would not launch anytime soon, assuming it moves beyond its test phase.
