{"id":136148,"date":"2015-08-24T11:01:29","date_gmt":"2015-08-24T09:01:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=136148"},"modified":"2015-08-24T11:02:43","modified_gmt":"2015-08-24T09:02:43","slug":"most-popular-programming-languages-on-github-2008-to-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/136148-most-popular-programming-languages-on-github-2008-to-2015.html","title":{"rendered":"Most popular programming languages on Github: 2008 to 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/blog\/2047-language-trends-on-github\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>GitHub has released a graph<\/strong><\/a> which shows the change in the popularity of programming languages on the platform between\u00a02008 and 2015.<\/p>\n<p>GitHub is an online Git repository hosting service, which offers distributed revision control and source code management functionality using a web-based graphical interface.<\/p>\n<p>Github said the ranking represents languages used in its public and private repositories.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt should be noted that this graph represents each language&#8217;s relative popularity on GitHub.
