{"id":14030,"date":"2010-07-26T12:29:00","date_gmt":"2010-07-26T10:29:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-07-26T12:29:00","modified_gmt":"2010-07-26T10:29:00","slug":"india-unveils-r240-android-tablet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/hardware\/14030-india-unveils-r240-android-tablet.html","title":{"rendered":"India unveils R240 Android tablet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>India has developed a tablet PC that will cost around $35 (US) according to a press release by India&#8217;s Press Information Bureau.<\/p>\n<p>Shri Kapil Sibal, Union Minister for Human Resource Development in India said that the intention is to gradually drop the price down to $20 and ultimately $10 per device.<\/p>\n<p>According to Sibal, continuous enhancement and price reduction of the device will require constant Research &amp; Development. Moneyweb reported that the device was developed by research teams at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Indian Institute of Science.
