{"id":140858,"date":"2015-10-05T14:42:17","date_gmt":"2015-10-05T12:42:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=140858"},"modified":"2015-10-05T17:54:36","modified_gmt":"2015-10-05T15:54:36","slug":"mweb-e-mail-downtime","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/140858-mweb-e-mail-downtime.html","title":{"rendered":"MWEB e-mail downtime"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MWEB has confirmed reports from customers who said they are\u00a0unable to send or receive e-mails, stating\u00a0its engineers are investigating the issue.<\/p>\n<p>MWEB asked subscribers not to change any settings in their e-mail client.<\/p>\n<p>It also warned that its call centre has been impacted by high call volumes. \u201cThis has resulted in clients experiencing high hold times and having difficulty reaching our call centre,\u201d said MWEB.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would like to apologies for any inconvenience caused and we thank you for your patience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>MWEB said it will inform subscribers as to when the issue is resolved when it gets the relevant information from its upstream provider.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update from MWEB &#8211; 15:50, 5 October<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hi All<\/p>\n<p>MWEB Customers are currently experiencing problems with their emails, both sending and receiving. The problem has been isolated to one of our upstream providers and they have indicated that they expect to have it resolved within the next hour.<\/p>\n<p>We are giving this our highest priority and focus. We know this is causing problems for our customers, and we apologise for this. As a result of this, our call centres are experiencing high volumes of calls and we may not be able to answer all calls or reply to all emails.<\/p>\n<p>We will keep customers updated on the situation.
