{"id":146593,"date":"2015-11-18T12:04:41","date_gmt":"2015-11-18T10:04:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=146593"},"modified":"2015-11-18T12:07:29","modified_gmt":"2015-11-18T10:07:29","slug":"popcorn-time-piracy-streaming-site-making-a-comeback","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/146593-popcorn-time-piracy-streaming-site-making-a-comeback.html","title":{"rendered":"Popcorn Time piracy streaming site making a comeback"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Popcorn Time, which allowed users to stream unauthorized copies of films and TV shows, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/143618-popcorn-time-shuts-down.html\">announced it had shutdown<\/a><\/strong> towards the end of October.<\/p>\n<p>Popcorn Time developer \u201cWally\u201d said he had shutdown the fork\u2019s servers, following\u00a0an exodus of developers at Popcorn Time over fears of legal action.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/torrentfreak.com\/popcorn-times-alive-full-comeback-in-the-works-151117\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>TorrentFreak<\/strong><\/a> has reported that the service is now making a comeback, with\u00a0one of the original developers aiming to bring it back.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Faced with an abrupt ending, several Popcorn Time users were keen to revive the defunct application.
