Absa has announced that it has partnered with MTN to offer free access to mobile and internet banking via its banking application and Absa.mobi for all MTN customers.<\/p>\n
Subscribers who don\u2019t have data or airtime will be able to access digital banking at no charge through this initiative.<\/p>\n
The bank and mobile operator have also partnered with Huawei to pre-load the Absa app on all Huawei Y560 smartphones.<\/p>\n
Huawei and Absa are working on pre-loading the app on more models in future.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a joint initiative between MTN, Huawei and Absa,\u201d said Marius de la Rey, chief executive of customer channels & distribution at Absa.<\/p>\n
\u201cHuawei is proud to strategically align with institutions such as MTN and Absa in this initiative as we continue to push innovation barriers,\u201d said Charlene Munilall, GM at Huawei consumer business group.<\/p>\n
Larry Annetts, the sales and marketing executive at MTN said that this partnership is the first of its kind for MTN.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe partnership will ensure that MTN customers can conduct banking services with Absa without having to worry about the associated costs of online banking,\u201d Annets said.<\/p>\n
