Cell C’s 21 Mbps mobile broadband launch is likely to happen later this week. Cell C CEO Lars Reichelt today invited journalists “to join him [on 2 and 3 September] for an experience in speed as Cell C switches on the first 4Gs city.”<\/p>\n
Cell C would not divulge any details about this planned launch, but it is speculated that Port Elizabeth is a likely launch city for Cell C’s first HSPA+ offering. Port Elizabeth based Cell C stores would however not confirm or deny this information, merely saying that consumers should watch the press for more details.<\/p>\n
In early August Cell C CEO Lars Reichelt said that they will launch their first 21 Mbps HSPA+ services within three weeks, but the delayed launch may be an indication that the company has experienced some hiccups.<\/p>\n
According to a well placed source Cell C are experiencing problems with their HSPA+ network in Johannesburg, but said that the system is performing far better in smaller cities like Durban and Port Elizabeth.<\/p>\n
Cell C would however not comment on the speculation, only saying that we can expect more details about its 21 Mbps HSPA+ plans later this week.<\/p>\n
