{"id":148651,"date":"2015-12-05T15:54:37","date_gmt":"2015-12-05T13:54:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=148651"},"modified":"2015-12-05T16:06:10","modified_gmt":"2015-12-05T14:06:10","slug":"quad-core-64-bit-computer-for-r215","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/hardware\/148651-quad-core-64-bit-computer-for-r215.html","title":{"rendered":"Quad-core 64-bit computer for R215"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/pine64.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">PINE64<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; a 64-bit quad-core\u00a0single-board computer \u2013 was unveiled recently, and will go on sale for $15.<\/p>\n<p>The PINE64 can run Linux, 64-bit Android 5.1.1, and other software, and has 4K HDMI output capabilites.<\/p>\n<p>The computer is the brainchild of TL Lim and Johnson Jeng, who said they set out to create a simple computer as affordable as two double Big Mac combo meals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy creating the world\u2019s first affordable 64-bit single-board supercomputer, we\u2019ve enabled your dreams to build the next invention,\u201d the company said.<\/p>\n<p>The PINE64 can be purchased with the latest Android software installed, or you can upload the latest version of Linux.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOut of the box, with Android Lollipop 5.1 version installed, you immediately get access to over 1.6 million apps on the Google Play market, downloadable in a few clicks.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">PINE64 versions<\/h3>\n<p>There are two versions of the PINE64, priced at $15 and $19 respectively.
