is sending to clients, the trial started in December and will run until 29 February 2016.

“This is uncapped for almost all applications and uses,” said FNB.

“These include email, browsing, streaming traffic like video, music, YouTube, Apple TV, [DStv] BoxOffice, Netflix, VPN, real time online gaming, backups, and gaming downloads.”

The bank said only invited FNB ADSL customers who meet qualifying criteria can participate in the trial.

For the trial, FNB is offering clients the following:

Free uncapped data over an LTE network (fair use policy applies).

Average speeds not less than 10Mbps.

Huawei CPE B315 LTE home router for the duration of the trial.

Free delivery and installation.

24/7 technical support.

Participants will be required to return the equipment at the end of the trial, which will be collected by FNB.

FNB stated the fair-use limit on the uncapped LTE service is set to 50GB, after which it may shape and throttle connections.

“FNB’s fair use policy has been put in place to ensure that FNB Connect customers have a good user experience and that the network performance during peak periods is not compromised.”

“Participants who reach their cap may experience speed degradation due to throttling on bandwidth-intensive applications such as BitTorrent traffic via peer-to-peer and news servers protocols.”

<a data-lightbox="post-image" href="http://mybroadband.co.za/news/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/FNB-uncapped-LTE-trial.jpg" rel="attachment
