{"id":155138,"date":"2016-02-14T10:01:02","date_gmt":"2016-02-14T08:01:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=155138"},"modified":"2016-02-15T00:47:53","modified_gmt":"2016-02-14T22:47:53","slug":"massive-mtn-data-centre-outage-reports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/155138-massive-mtn-data-centre-outage-reports.html","title":{"rendered":"No outage at Gallo Manor data centre: MTN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MTN has said\u00a0that as far as it is aware,\u00a0there was no failure or outage in its\u00a0Gallo Manor data centre over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>This comes after some of the network operator&#8217;s\u00a0clients reported that virtual private servers, and various domain name (DNS) and content delivery network (CDN) services appeared to be down.<\/p>\n<p>With numerous services not seeming to respond, clients reported that it seemed\u00a0like MTN&#8217;s\u00a0Gallo Manor data centre was\u00a0offline.<\/p>\n<p>ADSL subscribers on Afrihost reported being unable to browse certain international sites, with reports linking this to a DNS and CDN outage on MTN.<\/p>\n<p>However, Afrihost has said that after running extensive tests\u00a0to look for any possible issues, it found that everything in its Gallo Manor environment to be working as expected.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u2019re also not showing any unusual traffic, so we\u2019re confident there is no issue,&#8221; Afrihost said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our DNS is not linked to MTN&#8217;s, as we now run on a completely discreet network.
