DuckDuckGo has announced<\/a><\/strong> this year\u2019s recipients of its open source donations programme.<\/p>\n

The projects were nominated by the DuckDuckGo community, with\u00a02016’s donations totalling $225,000 (R3.3 million).<\/p>\n

$25,000 (R372,500) will go to nine different open source projects.\u00a0Last year, it donated $125,000, Business Insider reported<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The nine projects\u00a0are<\/p>\n

  3. OpenBSD Foundation<\/li>\n
  4. CrypTech Project<\/li>\n

  7. VeraCrypt (Open Source Technology Improvement Fund)<\/li>\n
  8. LEAP (Riseup Labs)<\/li>\n
  9. GPGMail (GPGTool)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
