{"id":164862,"date":"2016-05-21T10:40:45","date_gmt":"2016-05-21T08:40:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=164862"},"modified":"2016-05-21T10:43:22","modified_gmt":"2016-05-21T08:43:22","slug":"fnb-connect-uncapped-lte-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/broadband\/164862-fnb-connect-uncapped-lte-update.html","title":{"rendered":"FNB Connect uncapped LTE update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FNB CEO Jacques Celliers said their pilot to test uncapped broadband over iBurst\u2019s LTE network is going well.<\/p>\n<p>Celliers did not\u00a0reveal how many FNB Connect subscribers were on the trial, saying it was a \u201chandful\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The uncapped LTE pilot has been running since December, offering select\u00a0FNB Connect subscribers a chance to test the service for free.<\/p>\n<p>It launched after\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/business\/144749-new-iburst-ceo-and-plans-announced.html\" target=\"_blank\">Multisource acquired Wireless Business Solutions<\/a><\/strong>, the parent of iBurst, at the start of November.\u00a0The trial\u00a0was initially set to finish at the end of February 2016.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/160308-good-news-for-fnb-connect-uncapped-lte-trial-subscribers.html\"><strong>FNB extended the trial twice<\/strong><\/a>, with the latest extension ending on 30 June. The bank said this is the last time it will be extended.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Two LTE networks<\/h3>\n<p>Celliers said there was confusion surrounding the bank&#8217;s use of two network providers and their respective LTE networks.
